R. Thomas Williamson joined Academic Search as a Senior Consultant after serving as president of Westminster College for eleven years. Williamson was named President Emeritus of Westminster College after serving as its thirteenth President from 1997 to July 1, 2008. For fifteen years (1982-1997) he served as Vice President for External Affairs and then as Executive Vice President of Clarkson University. From 1976-1982 Williamson was the Director of the Economic Development and Technical Assistance Center at the State University of New York, Plattsburgh. He worked in the corporate headquarters of McCormick and Company in Hunt Valley, Maryland, in marketing and legal department posts from 1970-1976. In earlier years he served aboard U.S.S. William R. Rush (DD-714) as a naval officer.

Williamson holds a Bachelor of Arts from the College of Wooster and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Baltimore as well as an honorary degree from Westminster College.

Williamson’s professional involvements have ranged from the presidencies of the Association of Presbyterian Colleges and Universities and the National Association of Management and Technical Assistance Centers – to board memberships on the NCAA Division III Chancellors/Presidents Advisory Group, the Association of Independent Colleges & Universities of Pennsylvania (AICUP), the Judicial Commission of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, as well as various hospitals, senior care facilities and cultural organizations.
