Kenyon College - Dean of Students
Gambier, OH- Henry P. Toutain, the long-time dean of students at Gustavus Adolphus College and a student-life professional with more than thirty years of experience, will become the next dean of students at Kenyon, President S. Georgia Nugent has announced.

Mr. Ruger, senior consultant, is also an adjunct faculty member of the Washington University School of Law. He teaches the law of nonprofit organizations at St. Louis University School of Law and Washington University School of Law and, at Washington University he supervises students working on pro bono projects for nonprofit organizations.
Previously, he was General Counsel of the Southern Illinois University System from 1997-2004 and General Counsel for Washington University from 1974-1992. From 2004 until August of 2008, he was a member of the law firm of Tueth Keeney Cooper Mohan & Jackstadt, P.C., where he represented higher education institutions and nonprofit organizations. Mr. Ruger also served as the president of the National Association of College and University Attorneys in 1989-1990. He is a member of the following professional organizations: The Missouri Bar, Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis (served on and chaired several committees), Illinois State Bar Association, and the National Association of College and University Attorneys.
At Washington University and Southern Illinois University he organized and participated in numerous executive position searches. As General Counsel, he provided advice concerning search processes and has spoken to several groups on the legal aspects of the search process.
Mr. Ruger received his B.A. from Denison University in 1963, his graduate degree in history from Washington University in 1966, and his J.D. degree from Washington University School of Law in 1969. Honors include Phi Beta Kappa; Board of Editors; Washington University Law Quarterly; and Omicron Delta Kappa.
