Marilyn Rhoads Mock brings to her role as Senior Consultant a distinguished background of almost two decades of leadership as Vice President for University Relations at Southwestern University (TX) and more than a decade of effective service as a search consultant to a variety of higher education institutions, art museums and other non-profit, as well as successful consulting experience in fund raising, marketing, and constituent relations for 45 colleges and universities around the country.

In her career as Vice President for University Relations, Ms. Mock served as a counselor to the president and the board of trustees during a time when Southwestern University was positioning itself as a strong, respected national liberal arts college. She was highly regarded for her wise counsel and was a valued colleague who helped to bring about the dramatic transformation of the University during her tenure. In addition, she served in leadership positions both regionally and nationally for the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) where she developed a strong network of professional contacts.

During the past 11 years, she has served as consultant with Marts & Lundy, a national fund raising firm; GDA Integrated Services, a national marketing firm; and her own firm, MRM Consulting, a fund raising, marketing, and search consulting firm. In addition, she has served as president of the 700-member Chautauqua Women’s Club at the Chautauqua Institution in New York.

Ms. Mock has conducted presidential and senior staff searches for colleges and universities as well as provided in-depth evaluations and recommendations for key administrative areas, particularly in the areas of fund raising and marketing, as well as provided assistance with institutional and presidential transitioning and positioning.

Institutions where she served as a search consultant include Creighton University, Loyola University in Chicago, University of Dallas, College of Charleston, Hendrix College, William Jewell College, Millsaps College, Our Lady of the Lake University, Birmingham Southern College, East Stroudsburg University, Southwestern University, as well as Dallas Contemporary Art Center and Austin Museum of Art.
