Scott Miller Elected as Chair of The Council of Colleges and Universities of the Christian Church

Jacqueline Powers Doud served as president of Mount St. Mary’s College in California from 2000 to 2011. She served Mount Saint Mary’s as provost and vice president for academic affairs before becoming the college’s first lay president. She co-edited the first and second volumes of President to President: Views on Technology in Higher Education, has been a consultant to colleges and universities, and has had extensive experience in accreditation. Dr. Doud is currently serving on the Board of Visitors of the School of Education of Claremont Graduate University, the Board of Directors of the California Institute for Nursing and Health Care, the Executive Committee of the Association of Independent California Colleges and Universities, and the Thomas and Dorothy Leavey Foundation. Dr. Doud earned a bachelor of arts degree in French from Mundelein College in Chicago; a master of arts in French literature from the University of California, Berkeley; and a Ph.D. in higher education from Claremont Graduate University. She was awarded an honorary doctorate in humane letters from Hebrew Union College. In 2010, Cardinal Roger Mahony honored Dr. Doud with the Cardinal’s Award of the Los Angeles Archdiocese and Loyola University Chicago gave her the 2010 Coffey Award, honoring an alumna for leadership in the community, accomplishments in industry, and service to others.
